Origins

ONMix is site born from the metaphorical ashes of the Official Nintendo Magazine forums. The forum was created on 21st May 2009 by Heaven Implode, in an attempt to recreate the ‘old times’: a relaxed and friendly place to visit. The portal was added later that year to showcase some of the users’ work and to create a way for new members to find the site.

The Forum

ONMix has a PHPbb3 forum, located at http://forum.onmix.co.uk, with over 200 regularly active members. It is the main place for users to congregate and talk about the topics of the day. It is administrated by Heaven Implode, Jack Kennedy, KmzR and rikkit, and moderated by Bcoolbyte, I’mthecityexplorer, Zimboo, Mercury’s Phoenix, Wrathy, Emperix, lobster and brian.

The Portal

We also have a portal, run on WordPress 3.0. This is where the writing staff (rikkit, Bcoolbyte, Paratrooper and Pixleh) and other users post articles for the rest of the community and others to read. Users can either send their articles to submit@onmix.co.uk or post their articles on their personal blog so that they can be linked  Due to the origins of the userbase, most of the articles are related to gaming and music.

Since the advent of WordPress 3.0, ONMix has also offered blog hosting for all members. It is intended that these be given more prominence on the front page in the future.
